Overview
The Janice Seagraves Family Foundation came to Desert Creative Group with a website that no longer reflected the organization or the work it was doing in the community. The existing site was visually dated, and its homepage led with a lengthy About Us section that made it difficult for visitors to quickly understand what the foundation does, who it serves, and how to pursue funding.
The challenge wasn’t simply to modernize the site’s appearance. The redesign needed to create a clearer path for prospective applicants while preserving the established personality of the foundation’s brand.
The new website was designed around a simple question: What does a visitor need to know to take the next step?

The Outcome
Rather than leading with the foundation’s history, the redesigned homepage introduces visitors to its purpose, explains who it supports, and guides them through the grant application process. This created a more intentional user journey and turned the homepage into a useful starting point for organizations seeking funding.
Visually, the goal was to create a website that felt modern and professional without losing the feminine character of the existing brand. I drew from the colors and visual qualities of the foundation’s existing logo to establish the site’s palette, then developed updated typography, layouts, spacing, and interface elements around it.
The redesign also created a stronger opportunity to demonstrate the foundation’s history of community impact. A dedicated Past Recipients section showcases organizations and projects that have previously received support, giving visitors tangible examples of the foundation’s work and reinforcing its reputation within the region.
Together, these changes transformed the website from a largely informational resource into a more focused digital experience, one that communicates the foundation’s mission, guides prospective applicants, and celebrates its legacy of giving.
