Created as a personal gift for my mother, this illustration reimagines Idaho’s Sawtooth Mountains in a mixed-media-inspired style. The composition contrasts a soft, watercolor sky with a bold, black-and-white marker rendering for the mountains and their reflection, creating a balance between organic texture and graphic linework.
Originally designed as a phone wallpaper, the piece focuses on simplifying a familiar landscape while preserving its sense of depth and tranquility. It was an opportunity to experiment with digitally combining traditional art aesthetics, using color selectively to draw the eye and create visual contrast.
